My dialogues between non-believers usually travels down a certain path. A question here, a question there, maybe a slight admission of truth on their part, but usually I don't get any praise Jesus' right at that moment. However, there is one fact that I am usually able to point out, and a non-believer has trouble refuting it. Christians are ready to die for their faith.
It is an interesting statement to make. You might say that other religions can claim the same thing, but with Christianity the scenario is a little different. We are not afraid of death because Christ has already taken that road for us. In a sense, the work has already been done. Other religions have their own takes on death, but what they have a tough time dealing with is that salvation is exclusive to Christianity. When you become a Christian you already have one foot in heaven. It can almost be assumed that the reason ascension does not happen immediately is so you can share your testimony with others.
Let those near you understand your passion for your religion. Let them see that having the specter of death disappear provides you with freedom that cannot be achieved any other way. God has written the story, Jesus has executed it, and you are going along for the ride because there just is not a better option. You can almost use comparison as the ultimate tool in discussing things with non-believers. In your right hand is Jesus, the key to eternal salvation. In your left hand is a huge question mark. Which appears to offer more?
I do this kind of work because I love to. When you speak to others about Christ, make sure to share that sentiment. You are a Christian because of love! That love provides a freedom that goes way past death. We belong to a faith that never stops giving!
