The invisible team

This is a scary place. In fact, as you get older, it tends to get scarier. Why? Well, there is a guy in a black robe carrying a sickle. That is one of the problems. But much more so than him is the idea that when you encounter phenomenal problems, you might get left out to dry.

I am here to tell you that whenever a situation like that pops up, you are accompanied by an invisible army. Angels begin to pop in and out. People that may have gone overlooked somehow begin to help out. Miracles of healing take place. In short, God sends in the troops.

Years ago my wife discovered how nice it is to have a huge guy standing next to her as she uses ATM’s in sketchy areas. After this happened once or twice, I told her that I feel the same way, except my guards are much bigger and much stronger than myself. I love to inform people about a special trick angels do. They appear visible to some people, but not to others. So you might be somewhere dangerous, and people around you might see four or five big guys, but you don’t see them at all. Nice perk, don’t you think?

When I step into hospitals, I sometimes get hit by a blast from the Holy Spirit. Over the years I have come to believe that certain places, like hospitals and war zones, where people are injured or dying, angels tend to propagate. Why? Well, for one thing, lots of Christians send their prayer power toward those places. Angels manifest where they are needed, and the world moves on.

I guess I’ve gotten used to it by now, but I have felt for years that as I drive around town, angels show up to keep my situation safe. It makes sense, don’t you think? The most dangerous place most of us go each day is the road. Is it so hard to believe that angelic vehicles are out there, protecting those on the team who need it? Seems quite ordinary to me.

I have a five year old daughter. She goes to a Christian school. So sometimes she comes how asking about God. She knows that I’m a minister, and that I put lots of effort into helping people. Every now and then she comes up with really cool questions. Months ago, one of them was, “How can you tell that angels are around the house, Dad?” So I told her the truth, “We work on projects together, sweety. They have to be here so we can help the folks who need us.” I don’t talk to angels, but I think you get the point.
