My daughter is a kick. All fun, virtually no sadness. She runs around, all day, just enjoying the world. The glory of being five.
By the time we get to about 30, things have changed a little.
Have you ever wondered what the point is? Why the body? Why the world? Why do we need Jesus. The answers are delightfully simple, yet the informed people of this world usually fail at explaining it. Here ya go, in three quick paragraphs.
The body is here to provide a conduit through which we can learn that which our all knowing, all seeing souls could not. The body adds a challenge that otherwise would not be there. Without the weight loading down our soul, there would be no reason to push toward that which betters us. Our souls are like five year olds. They enjoy everything, they fly around like birds. But when a body comes into play, we are like weight lifters in a gym. We push, and pull, and work, and struggle....in order to gain the kind of special wisdom that the experience provides.
The world is here to create more fun. You might have trouble understanding that, especially if your present circumstances are unappealing, but it is the truth. Everywhere you look, there are fun things to do. There are also people that will help you do the fun things. There are teams of helpers, all over the world, ready to step in and help you. My ministry provides some of that help. The world is also a centrifuge. It separates the chaff from the wheat. It decides what is good enough to be harvested, and what should stay on the vine. Your relationship to the world should be one thing, and one thing alone - friendship. You should treat the world as if it were your best friend. Everyone in the world should be one more person you could help.
We need Jesus because He gets us from here to there. He takes away the fear of death. He does not change the death process, He just makes it less scary. He promises friendship now, and after death. To have the most powerful man who ever walk the Earth proclaim that He is here simply to be your companion in life and death....it is the most priceless thing there is. God Himself, walking the Earth, proclaiming His love for all of us. It really does not get any better. He opens our hearts and He floods our souls with righteous energy and joy and power. He gives us the ability to produce miracles on a routine basis. He cares for our families and sends angels to guard against evil ones. He knows we are not in danger, but sometimes we have trouble convincing ourselves of that. In truth, Christians are never at risk, but in order to get certain missions done, we require supplies and assistance.
Folks, the point is that within all you have done, within all you have thought about, within all you have experienced and loved, there has been one continuing factor and ingredient....the Love of God. His truth permeates everything and His miracles change you and the world routinely.
The next time you hear God’s whispers in your mind, remember that some folks are not hearing them. That’s why YOU need to start an Internet ministry. The Word of God MUST be shared!
