…....is assuming that the same rules apply to everybody.
I don’t have proof of much of anything. The only thing I go through life believing is that Jesus is the only real thing there is. Everything thing else may or may not be an illusion.
Have you noticed how some folks really do seem to have the Midas Touch? Every single thing they work on, every relationship in their life, all the stuff they are hit with......becomes a success? I’ve noticed that in my own very limited social circle, that I seem to be the only one making a tremendous impact on the world. Yet I am technically the poorest and most under-utilized of everybody.
Why do our parents seem to operate with a different set of paradigms? The rules are different for them. Success for them is not the same as it is for younger folks. The curve is constantly growing, and over the years it just gets further and further out of reach. What a great relationship with Jesus will teach you is that God can put everything within your reach, if you are willing to make one very simple concession - listen to His Son.
I was about 21 when I read a very interesting book. It was called A Course in Miracles. You read a few pages each day, and after a year of doing that, the book ended. The entire point of it was to help you understand what is real and what is not. You adults out there obviously understand that lots of things are illusions. But maybe what you’re having trouble really understanding is how deep those illusions go. It may not be just finances, or just religion, or just home life....it may be virtually everything.
I love the people in my life. They are very important to me and everyone makes my life better. But the reality I have to operate with is that they may not be what I think they are. I have absolutely no proof of where they came from and where they are going. Any assumptions I’ve made could be absolutely incorrect.
What I want you to think about today is: what can you honestly and completely believe with all your heart, body, mind, and soul? If you come up with something other than Jesus, I would love to hear what it is.
