Altruism is dying a silent death, not only in the USA, but around the world.
I have never seen a war that did not have a hidden agenda.
Why did you wake up this morning? What are your goals today? Why are you chasing them?
Take a firm look at the groups you spend your time in. Why do they do what they do? I have been going to church for decades now. Do you know why churches are there? Jesus had an agenda. It was a worthwhile agenda, but I’m not so sure every church sees the point.
Jesus came to bring joy to the world! He was not interested in a worldwide church. Jesus wanted people to believe in Him, but I don’t think He was interested in an organization that dictates right and wrong. I’m also pretty sure that He did not want professional ministers, huge splendorous buildings, and people who make their living selling trinkets that look like Him.
Ask yourself why you follow the Christ. Are you interested in the lessons? Or do you want some of His power? Or are you lonely, and need fellowship? Folks, these agendas are perfectly fine. Learning, empowerment, and friendship....they all make sense. But creating a one-religion-world is not only impractical, it is greedy.
I love doing what I do. I don’t have someone standing over my back, dictating what should and should not be done with my ministry. I make whatever headway I can, but I don’t do it by convincing people that I am the only source of their happiness. In fact, my main goal is to reach countries that just don’t have the resources we do in the USA.
My prayers go out to you today, but they go out to you because I enjoy praying for people, not because I have been ordered to. Big churches are sometimes like the military. Everyone is forced to think and act a certain way. You know what? That is unhealthy. If there were really a religion or church that got everything right every time....they would already have dominated the world. But diversity is a wonderful thing, and because of that religions and groups change over time. The bible of today will not look the same in 500 years. The religious groups we now have will cross-pollinate and become better by sharing lessons with one another. There will be many new religions hatched in the future, some useful, and some not.
The real truth you should be focusing on? Jesus WAS and IS altruism. Focus on that, and regardless of your semantics in life, you will definitely get to where you want to go.
