If Jesus was not the savior...

...what would the world be like? After all, how can anyone prove anything after 2000 years anyway?

This world is permeable. That means that things can pass through it quite easily. Stuff comes, stuff goes. History is more about what you want to believe than what is actually true. I don’t think books can be relied on very much. Soon, video editing will produce the same effect on movies, as real people can be doctored up without any trace of change.

Years ago I had to come to grips with the fact that I would not ever have proof. Yes, the language of the bible is powerful. Yes, Christianity is the biggest religion, by believer count, covering 1/4 of all humans. However, Christ had never stepped up to me and said, “Look, I have missions. Do you want to carry them out? I only want you to work for me if you jump in with both feet.” What would you say to that?

If you take the risk, and start believing, it becomes very apparent very quickly that you have placed lots of hardships on yourself. Just as soon as you start embracing the world’s most joyous religion, you are tossed into the abyss of challenges. Why? Only joyful people can succeed in the abyss.

I think it must have been right around the time when I started seeing angels that the real truth seemed to show itself. Obviously not everybody gets treated to that kind of vision, but God communicates in all kinds of ways, and He is never denied an audience. I really started to get into this whole “helping people” thing. I became one of those big prayer engines that loves it, adores it, and systematically makes every prayer automatic. Otherwise I would run out of room on my plate. If I did not set up a system....nothing would get done.

At a certain point I just did not want the fun to stop! I was achieving at an incredible rate. I could see results as clear as I could see the stars and the sun. Jesus was always there, sitting next to me in the car, walking with me into church, providing advice on how to counsel folks. His presence never let up. He would tell me, “There is no better way to do it.” Of course, I believed Him!

So, what if Jesus is not the savior? What if He was just a guy with some really awesome ideas and some extraordinary powers? You know what....it really wouldn’t matter. If I can make my life this effective, this extraordinary, touching billions with just a thought....I don’t really care about the rest of the scenario. I’m just happy to have Him in my life!

Besides...now that I work for God, I’m guessing the retirement plan is pretty good!
