God at work

For the past couple months I have been having a wonderful conversation with an old friend on Facebook. He is a gentleman who I have not seen in person since high school. While we were not best friends, I have always enjoyed his company and was happy to hear him doing so well. He is an instructor at a university in Atlanta.

Last night my wife came home with a bad headache so she requested that I watch our daughter while she rested. I decided that we would go to a mall about 25 minutes away so my four-year-old could enjoy the indoor play area. This is a typical stop for us, since it is the nicest mall in town plus its the only playground that is available at 7pm.

I sat down at the playground as Maddy started to enjoy the equipment and the other kids. A few minutes later a gentleman walks into the area, and I can't help but stare at him. I say to myself...there's no way it could be Johnathan. The coincidence is just too huge. Then I notice who he is with, and I instantly recognize his two younger sisters.

I walk up to him and say, "Not too far from Facebook, huh JT?" He laughed and we hugged and sat down and enjoyed a wonderful conversation together. He has a three year old daughter, who starts playing with Maddy. We must have talked for about 30 to 40 minutes. We were both extremely blown away by the coincidence. But that is how God steps in sometimes.

At many points in life, God can move this place so that wonderful, almost shocking blessings take place. It can go much farther than just running into an old friend. God sometimes puts certain people in certain places so that lives are saved or evil is thwarted. It is very common for people of Christ to constantly find themselves in situations where they are needed very badly. That's just how God moves things. Once you start really working within the Holy Spirit, these sorts of situations are normal, and you accept it and enjoy it. After all, once Christ saves you, don't you want to save others?
