My daughter loves her braids. However, while they are being set up, she cries. You can look her straight in the eye and ask, "Do you want these? Is it worth the pain?" And she'll say yes.
That's how the servant/master relationship works with God. We go through hell. We do extremely tough job after extremely tough job. At the end of the day, when asked if we'd do it again, the answer is that we'd do it forever.
Look at the relationships in your life. Are people who you have authority over actually going to answer like that? Or do they have backstabbing on their mind? Are your kids lining up to help you with what needs to be done? Or do they bolt when asked to do the simplest thing?
I'm a big fan of enjoying the jobs I undertake. Typically I only sign up for what is worthwhile and fun. If you can't serve in happy fashion, feeling well compensated and appreciated, then what's the point?
God has lots of jobs that need to be filled. He has an infinite amount. Do you want one of them? Or are you so wrapped up in the distractions of this world that you really can't provide what the Almighty is requesting?
Life goes on forever. We just change forms. Do your best to show the Lord that you actually care about your own future....and His!
