It is the only process that really matters.
Have you noticed how tasks that carry big rewards always get the attention? That next big raise....that new cute girl or guy....that flashy car.....those things get so much focus. It really can be hard to start thinking about your mental processes and your physical processes. Usually when you start improving either one, other things improve.
Life is long. It really is. It seems shorter the older you get, but 70 or 80 years is still a good chunk of time. We need to take our lives seriously, as if everything depended on them. One of the problems we run into is that some leaders in the world have no problem taking control of lives and forfeiting them. Do you think Bush 43 feels a little guilty for all the deaths recently in the Middle East? I really think he does. I personally think it bothers him on a regular basis, because he knows these wars were loaded with mistakes and civilian deaths, and I’m guessing that as a Christian he asks forgiveness for all of it.
What does your life process hold for you? What are your goals? Or are you just happy to get through the day? Have you thought about your daily schedule? Is there enough sleep, rest, and fun? Americans dump that kind of stuff all the time, just to make a few more bucks. In fact, we have become notorious for that kind of thing. I know why. I’ve been unemployed for a while. Right now I would probably sacrifice a lot to avoid worrying about my bills. But at the same time I’m bipolar, and I must take that into account. However, my life process and the goals I focus on center on helping other people on a daily basis. I probably spend 30 minutes each day, just spreading the word about what my ministry offers. That is because we have ways to instantly improve things for people.
What kind of improvement would really move you in a better direction? What could be introduced into your day, that would massively help your life as a whole? How about helping your friends get jobs? Or get counseling? Or get access to services they really need? Recently we rolled out a program that helps you help your friends. That’s because we have begun to look at our ministry as an ever-widening circle. We want people to be able to reach out to one another, and have both parties benefit from it. This ministry is a process. And it only gets more interesting each day.
